rats I bought my house for a short term investment. I planned on living there for only 3 months and then selling it. Dang it.
Wait... you mean people buy houses to put down roots, and feel a sense of community. I thought you were supposed to move every 2 years.
I think I'll go but some gold bars right now and try to sell them next week, along with my oil speculations. Maybe my luck will change.

Actually I think the OP hit the nail on the head. Do not buy in Charlotte. Buy in Huntersville,Cornelius,Davidson etc. I think those towns are a better fit. The Dilworth area is noce too. Mind you that falls into the Charlotte city limits. Better of sticking with Huntersville. Give me a call

I hope stephen424 doesn't read the OP's message. If believed, it will really mess up his theories!

2 houses in our neighborhood that have sold in the last year took only a couple of weeks (for one) and two months for the other to sell.
DH just got a promotion and a raise.....his job is pretty darned secure here.
Couldn't agree less with the OP.

He might need to consider paying a agent 10% commission to get rid of the house he doesn't want to sell anyway.
Only kidding Steve-pls. don't start another thread. :>

So glad to know we have a great group here . . . I suspect we can hunker down and survive the Charlotte collapse for at least a few months . . .

I have a question. As someone thinking of moving to Charlotte; do your water bills really run $100 per month? I'm coming from So. Cal where there is a threat of water rationing, but my bills still only run about $40 per month. Despite all of the ranting, from the little research I've done, Charlotte sounds like a lovely place to live.
