We want to open a savings account for our young child as he receives $$ for his birthday etc. Can anyone tell me of a bank that doesn't charge anything or has cool special programs for little ones? We currently have our accounts at B of A.

Our kids had accounts with BoA, no fees. We have since switched to BB&T and they have money market type accounts that accrue more interest. They still like to go to a B&M bank to make deposits.

yes you do or have a relative who is.

Check with other credit unions and see what they have to offer.
Credit Unions generally do not fee you for this and that and have higher interest rates for savings, money market accounts, CD's than a commercial bank and also offer lower interest rates on loans.

online banking, federally insured, higher yield interest rates than normal. I think its around 3.40%? Not sure.

Anyhow, we usually deposit all my lil ones money into our bank acct and then transfer it to the ING account and let the intrest accumulate.

We also have a 9-month CD at our credit union that we keep some funds in as well.
