Default Former NY Yankee great Bobby Murcer dies at 62

To all you Yankees fans here in this beautiful city of Charlotte, it's a sad day in "Yankee Land" today, as Bobby Murcer 62 passed away after a battle with brain cancer. All of Major League Baseball is saddened today by the passing of Bobby Murcer, particularly on the eve of this historic All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium, a place he called home for so many years. Bobby was a gentleman, a great ambassador for baseball, and a true leader both on and off the field. Here's a guy who came through the Yankees farm system and followed Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle as the centerfielder, wow, what shoes to fill. He will truly be missed by all......

I remember the Friday night game after Thurman Munson's funeral, Bobby it a home run and a walk-off hit in the 9th, very emotional game to say the least...
