Charlotte Area
Hi Everyone,
I just got an email from my Realtor in Charlotte who is helping me find rental property unfortunately she didn't tell me any information about the areas or what part of Charlotte. If anyone could help with any information about these areas I would be greatful. I just need to know if they are children suitable, far from the city happenings, a decent school district, high on crime ( I am originally from Newark new jersey so I think I have seen my high on crime levels) any information would be helpful.
StillCreek Area
University Area
Oakshire and Berkshire and Griers Cove
Thanks in advance

What part of town will you be working in - these are kind of spread all over?

Between Steele Creek and the University area, I'd recommend Steele Creek based on what you said. The Unversity area is not all bad, its just probably a little more sketchy than Steele Creek. Those specific areas you noted, I can't comment on, unfortunatley.

We rented in Steele Creek (Berewick neighborhood) for a year before buying in University City area. Steele Creek definitely has it's draws (shopping, restaurants, etc), but once folks learned that we were just lowly "renters," they wouldn't give the time of day. Maybe it's just a Berewick thing (I know they've had an over-abundance of investment homes in their...which would make me irritated as an owner in there too)...but it certainly was no fun being the outcast of the neighborhood.
You'll hear people swing both ways about University City. We love it and couldn't be more happy with our home purchase in the area. It's quiet, the infrastructure (namely, roads) is not over-stressed like Steele Creek is rapidly becoming, and there is all the convenience (if not more than) that Steele Creek has to offer.

I would say University City...but be sure and stay NORTH of Harris Blvd & WEST of I-85 for the better areas of University City. Mallard Creek area of University City is nice and has new schools. Steele Creek is fine too.
Depends on what area of town you will be working...Charlotte does have traffic issues.
GOOD LUCK!
