"SNOW" is a four letter word...my husband and I don't miss it at all. I'm wondering if I still would be able to drive in real snow ...

Don't forget atleast us Western Ny'ers the snow with teh sub below windchills. What was I thinking going to college on 2 buses in that mess. Never again. I was talking with a couple from MIchigan and I told them we will be staying in NC - just not committing to one region yet! I can still feel ice in my nostrils from those long cold mornings!
It's snowed several times in my NC time, but nothing like NY where it lasts for 90 days.

I miss waking up in the middle of the night to the incredible stillness of a blanket of freshly fallen snow, looking out and seeing it sparkle and shimmer in the night light. It transformed the cityscape and softened the harshness. I miss the crackle and crunch and squeak as I tromped through it to set food out at the bird feeders and check on their heated bird bath.
I do NOT miss the nasty, dirty, black slush that forms in the city streets and at the curbs, or the frozen snow/slush at curbs and bus stops that forces you to climb over and hope your boots don't crash through the surface into icy cold, deep wet slush underneath. Which pours over the tops of your boots and freaking freezes your toes and you're not even at work yet!
Whew, glad I got that out!
I do like cool weather - give me 55 degrees and sunny in the autumn and I'm in heaven.

After this past winter here in upstate NY I can't wait to never see snow again. I swear for 4 months we were on a viscious cycle-- it would snow at least 6 inches every 3 days without fail. Just when the roads would go back to being dry, it would snow and people became idiots about driving. The other thing I won't miss is the nice hard build-up you get at the end of your driveway from the plows going 60mph down your street. The rock hard ice you had to ram your car over a couple times a day that wouldn't melt until late April. Ohh I must agree with other posters, snow is definitely a four letter word.

I miss threading through Prospect Park on the fist good day when the snow was clean and at its peak. Walking those four blocks seem forever, but the surprise came when we were able to sled, make snow angels and ice skate. Snow was best in NYC, only for the first two days, unless you were in the suburbs where you enjoyed it more.
I made my first winter here and something was missing, it was not seeing snow. Snow is what really made the holiday season seem complete. Believe me I don't miss digging my car out only to find it covered by snow a couple of hours later due to sanitation cleaning streets, or the filthy curbs where the snow stockpiles.
Winter is my favorite weather minus the filthy snow. I will always miss the snow, but am happy to be away from it.

S-N-O-W is a FOUR letter word!!
Hate it, can't wait to get away from it, never want to see it again EVER even at Christmas!
Daughter lives just outside Utica, NY and we are going to hassle each other.......me to her about the snow, and her to me about the creepy-crawlies down there.
