My husband and I are looking to move to the Charlotte area from Ft. Lauderdale in October/November. We would really like something outside of the major city, but not too far from shopping, schools, restaurants, etc. I've heard nice things about South Park, which is fairly close to where my husband would work. As for me, I might be working in Concord. Any suggestions on areas that might be good for us?

A lot will depend on what you can spend on a home. South Park is beautiful, but the commute to Concord could be a bear. Consider South Charlotte or areas of Union County close to 485 -- Indian Trail area may work -- would give you about a 30 minute commute and about the same for your husband depending on exactly where his office is located.
