USA Baby on South Blvd has a great "Kids Furniture" section of the store which is called Childspace. They have awesome stuff. They're right near the Panda Express on South near Tyvola.

Rooms to Go Kids has a wide selection, big showroom:

I love Pottery Barn Kids stuff but it is very expensive. Costco has some nice children's furniture. It isn't always in store but you can find it online. Some of their items are similar to Pottery Barn but much lower price. My daughter has had the white twin bed with trundle and matching armoir from Costco for about 5 years now. It is still beautiful and has held up through 2 moves.

Update: I just browsed costo.com and they have a HUGE selection of kids furniture in twin and full, including bunk and loft beds, desks, bookshelves, etc. They have some Pirates of the Caribbean collections, dark woods, light woods, dark blue, white, and more. They also have a speed boat bed.

Rooms to Go Kids (I know the Independence Location had the "kids") has a decent selection of kids furniture.

Pier 1 Kids USED to have a great selection of kids furniture at decent until they went bankrupt! :-(

The store connected to USA Baby has one of the bigger selctions I remember seeing (but can't comment on price since my little one is still in her crib, but we did buy her nursery furniture at USA Baby).

There is a store I pass all the time in Pineville (near Sam's Club) called Slumber Kids. Never been there but that is an option to check out in south charlotte.

It will depend on what they have in stock at any given time, but going to the Pottery Barn Outlet in Gaffney is usually worth the trip.
