There are a lot of great community programs out there and a real need for people to volunteer some time to help out.

This weekend there was a perfect example of what can happen when folks get involved!

Ballin' II at Reedy Park (University Area) held by G.U.I.L.T.Y. ( http://www.imguilty.org/events]events[/url] )

G.U.I.L.T.Y. is a community outreach program aimed towards at-risk kids. They hold this event to raise awareness and to get the word out. I was honored to take part and to play photographer for them Saturday.

I had a great time and met some very nice folks.

1. Tiger who?

2. The next A-Rod

3. Running the bases

4. Dodgeball casualty

5. I was FRAMED!

6. Excited Kick-ball pitcher

7. Grandmother of the founder

8. Grandfather of the founder

I do not belong to this organization, I just volunteered for the weekend. I am not advocating for one group over another, just urging folks to take a couple hours a month, a quarter or even once a year to get involved in your community.

If you are interested in volunteering, another organization to look into is Hands on Charlotte. I am not advocating a particular organization but they do have a variety of volunteer projects available on week days, evenings, and weekends. You must attend an orientation before you are able to participate.

Haven't seen you since AutoFair a few years ago I think. What've you been up to?

Hey man, how are you and the wife? Ever get her car finished? Yeah, I bailed on the Autofair crowd, too much political BS and infighting. Just stopped being fun.

The car got done this year. The RCG is history. It went under about a year ago. There are a couple new clubs taking its place. I don't participate in any of them too much BS.

Woooo! the guy gives you an 'at a boy' and you jump on him? I don't see where there was a point other than to commend you for using the thread for a worthwhile cause you supported.

Thanks, bandi, but I was being kind of facetious. It was a combination of a new member with the name of his company being used as his username, and with all photos advertising company.

My diversity comment was a poke at all these diversity threads on here lately. I just didn't see the white kid, so I was joking.

But thanks for sticking up anyway!
