Hi...I am also moving from So. Cal to Charlotte in July. I'm coming back out to look at homes and townhouses in 2 weeks and would love some input on specific areas. I'm still single and would like to be somewhat close to uptown but not in it...I also prefer location over a huge home. My favorite spots so far are Dilworth, Myers Park, Elizabeth, certain areas of Sedgefield Park, South Park & I'm up in the air about Chantilly. Any opinions about what the feel of each of these neighborhoods is, the atmosphere of each, etc. would be much appreciated! My main concern is price in these older neighborhoods and the possibility of major renovations because the homes are from the 1940's.
I did look at Balantyne but I don't really want to be driving in traffic to uptown each day & it's a little track home"ish" (but nice track homes).

I appreciate any advise that you can give to me! Thank you!!!
