hello folks. thanks in advance for any replies.

i've been following the real estate listings for a couple of months and have formed a general idea of what i'm looking for near the university, either in the university city or the north tryon areas.

instead of indiscriminately emailing dozens of real estate agents listed on the net, i thought i'd first ask those of you who have had experience whom you'd recommend i contact, as well as whom it might be better to avoid.

while i'm initially going to contact real estate agents, i'll also be looking for recommendations for house inspectors, general contractors and possibly mortgage brokers/loan officers and lawyers as well. who was there for you and who perhaps was less helpful than you'd hoped for?

oops! please dm your replies. (thank you for the heads-up, cheesehead1)

well, i said tia already, but i'll say it again. thanks in advance! philso

I don't think the TOS allows us to specify agents, so people (including me) will probably need to DM you their recommendations. Good luck!

As a mortgage underwriter, I would recommend doing your research yourself and applying directly to a bank, not a mortgage broker. You will get a better deal and save a lot in broker fees! Cheesehead, I would guess that you are from Wisconsin??? welcome!

Also, the Faires Farms community (off Old Concord rd, in University City) has a lot of foreclosures, so, you can get a lot of house for your money!
