Does anyone know why the crime stats are high in Mooresville?

Looking at city data's crime index, Mooresville is below the national average. Beyond the numbers though, I think most of us who are considering relocating--anywhere--are finding that statistics such as crime and income have to be seen and understood in the proper context. Reading between the lines also helps.

But despite what I think I might know, it seems that new homebuilders and other growth-related businesses don't find crime too much of a problem. That's why they're successful and I'm posting on a city data forum.

Seems like these southern towns have high rape compared to other places..
