Just came across a thread with this post on it. Maybe you could dm this poster for some info - he is in the Village at Skybrook North, which if not the same as Skybrook North I think is in the same general area

Been here a few months now...

We ended up buying a house in NW Cabarrus in The Village at Skybrook North This area seems to be up and coming with the new shopping center going into Cornelius and what not... I think we got in just in time, things are already starting to popup all over (New Lowes Foods shopping center at Poplar Tent and 73). Just need a gas station somewhere close. Also, we seem to be right inbetween 77 and 85, so we can go one way down Poplar Tent into Concord, Concord Mills, Speedway, etc and the other way on 73 into Huntersville, Birkdale Village, Lake Norman, etc.

My oldest is going to Odell Elementary (located in Moss Creek) - and so far has had a great time, and the school seems up to par with what we're accustomed to.

That area is nice. There have been break-ins, but what area doesn't have those. People just need to lock up their homes, keep garages closed, car doors locked (car doors left unlocked is the same as leaving the garage door and front door wide open - if you have a garage remote and who doesn't) dogs are a great deterent, or an alarm system. Shopping, restaurants, medical facilities....close by....Huntersville, Concord Mills - new Lowes HW going up across the street, Northlake isn't too far. Don't know much about the schools, especially if your looking into the Cabarrus side. If it's the CMS side.....the HS is North Meck, middle school may be Alexander - not happy with that school at all. Elementary ? don't know. I wouldn't hesitate to live in that area or recommend it. This area is growing so rapidly, and once 485 is complete, it will really boom. Good Luck.
