Just got my water bill for last month. Water and sewer were $137. That seems outrageous to me, but I need to get the "pulse" of the locals. I do have irrigation, front, back and beds on a little over 1/4 acre. I am only using it on my appointed day (sometimes twice) for about 20 minutes on each zone (4 zones). Maybe I am overwatering a bit, but my grass got green this year and I am trying to keep it, but at what expense.
O.K. if I am whining, let me have it. If not, a little sympathy please!!!

Sounds high to me.
When I watered every other day I never had a bill over $100, but they have changed the rates since then.

This was my first full bill, and it was over $150!!! When I called 311, I was told that the rates had gone up for this Month. We only watered 2 times, for a total of 40 minutes. We conserve as much as we can, and our bill is still that high. I asked them to reread the meter to make sure that it was right.

Check your toilets. One could be running and it would drive your water bill way up.

you need to review the details of your water/sewer bill.

For example, Union County is on a "tiered" system where its gets very expensive once you go over 9K gallons in a month (like 9.50/for every 1K gallons).

You may not think your using alot of water but you'll be surprised...

you said you irrigate....that takes alot of water...

check your water meter daily to see where its going....

How many gallons did you use? How much for the water service? How much for the sewer service? What is the rate charged per 1,000 gallons. Use this information to find out if your bill is accurate.
