Unfortunatley I'm gonna miss all the half-naked ladies at the parade, but I'll be there later for the festival. And FYI to those who've never been, if you've been to the Juneteenth festival before, just know that this event is much smaller. I'm not saying don't go, but don't expect much. Unfortunatley this event has gone down a bit in the past few years. They added the parade last year, I think in an effort to make it bigger. And I think the year before that, they didn't even have it. We'll see what's its like today.

Here's another website for the group that puts it on: 2008 Charlotte Caribbean Festival

I'm about to go in an hour. As a native NY'er I know it won't be as big as the parade on the Parkway. Hey, it's something to do. I'm praying the rain hold up.

That's the spirit!!!! I love hearing that type of attitude. Just make the most of it, that's my motto.

We went stayed for about an hour. It was nothing big, but I knew that before heading out. I ate some great jerk chicken...hmmmph I missed the smell of jerk chicken wafting pass as I sauntered through Brooklyn. Not many costumes, but overall it was something to do on a Saturday afternoon before heading to the movies. I will attend again, if only to eat and hear the soca music.

I got out there around 7:00 last night. I thought they had a pretty good sized crowd, especially compared to last year. But I had a good time overall and will definitely go back next year.

there was not a roti in the place yesterday- disappointing

people playing mas on the road, surprisingly, stayed in their sections- but what threw me off was why the bands were ahead of the trucks that they should have been playing behind

overall, decent for CLT though
