Off the top of my head...the childrens spray fountain/water feature is fun at Veterans Park on Central Ave.
Library's all have story time and other fun activities like origami classes.
Friday evenings at Stonecrest, Blakeney or Birkdale shopping centers there is live music and kids playing in the fountains.
The playgrounds at different parks like William Davie on hwy 51 in south Charlotte or Freedom Park closer to uptown.
The Nature Museum right by Freedom Park has a nominal fee and is very fun for kids.
