Anyone else notice the constant helicopters morning noon and evening in the ballantyne area? For 40 min now i've had to listen to two annoying ones fly right over our house (one a news station , one unidentified). They are so low I can see the man in them!
What is with this???? It is extremely annoying and the fact they fly so low!

You should take your issue and address it with city council just like this guy did

hahahaha. This guy is still here in Charlotte (the video is from the 90's). He's still just as crazy.

I'm betting they're traffic helicopters. I don't listen to local radio (thank God for satellite radio) or watch the news, so I don't know if they do reports. But judging from the gridlock that part of town gets, it'd be prime airspace for them to set up in.

On a somewhat related note, I know a flight nurse for the CMC chopper here in uptown. He says the reason they have to approach from the east, northeast, north, northwest only is because the fine citizens of Dilworth and the Queens Road area complain about the rotor noise. This is a medevac chopper, mind you. So if they pry those same people's body from a twisted burning pile of Mercedes Benz on the south side of town, they need to add an extra 1-3 minutes of flight to teh hospital just so they don't offend the neighbors.

"Excuse us, we're just saving lives up here. Didn't mean to interrupt your TEA PARTY!"

Default copters

Ever heard of Smokey Bissell?
Well, he owns half of Ballantyne. Owns the Ballantyne Corporate Park (which is where I work).
He has a copter pad visible from my work window. So we often see him or his associates flying in and out from time to time.
Of course, we can't hear the noise from our office.....but what a way to beat traffic.

I would say...don't waste your time complaining to anyone about it cause its the man who made Ballantyne possible that's flying in and out

Except for the occasional MedEvac helicoptor, it's nice and quiet here on the northside!

We've seen police helicopters flying over our neighborhood, but nothing like you're describing. Ballantyne is right next door though.
