Default Places for dogs to swim?

Hello. Im relocating to the Mooresville area sometime in October with 2 labradors. They love to swim! I was wondering if anyone knew a spot where I could take them to swim? I probably wont have my own private pool. TIA!

you can take them to any of the parks around Lake Norman, there is not a dog swimming area but I take my dog swimming at Ramsey Creek Park and Jetton park and so do other people.

Ramsey Creek also has an off leash dog park but it is not on the actual lake.

There is no off leash area that I know of with access to the lake so I just let him get in on a long leash.

Interesting. We took ours in April or May and there was no one there so no issues. Didn't see a sign either. But I'm a rule breaker anyway...

Yeah they are not allowed at the state park but if nobody is there maybe I will try it so I can swim too, I hate that I can't really get in with my dog.

I keep him on a leash since he will take off after any child that comes along (in a friendly way) and also they have a leash law there. I just use a long one so he can go out pretty far and swim around and come back while I stand on the shore.

Ramsey creek park in Cornelius. Park in the lot where all the boat trailers are. walk down the embankment right by the parking lot and you will see a small sandy shore. Your dogs will be in heaven. Don't forget poop bags!
