Default Did you shoot the bad guy when he was in the house? Know anyone that did?

Very impressed with the laws (?) in Charlotte NC regarding the protection of house and home with firearms. But, I'm somewhat troubled by what the real story behind this is. Would love to hear from people that have had an experience of shooting at a home intruder. What were the consequenses with the legal system? Did the system acknowledge this is your right as a homeowner and when the system allows you to feel "your life was in danger"

If you have first hand knowledge of a friend or family in similar situation I would be very much interested in the details as well.
