I will be in Charlotte this afternoon and tomorrow morning. I am looking for middle class areas to drive around and get a feel for the city. I'm looking for an area that has grocery stores, banks, shops, etc in walking distance from residential. This is the type of area I am looking for if anyone can help me out. It doesn't need to be a down town area, jut not a suburb where you have to drive everywhere. I am not opposed to down town area though.

Thanks

Check out where Prosperity Church Rd runs in to Harris Rd. There is alot of new commercial there, that touts being walkable. Mapquest the intersection of Prosperity Church and Eastfield/Harris Rd.
