Yep...my husband has switched direction again , and now we are looking in the Belmont/ Gastonia area. We have family in Lake Wylie and Cramer Mountain (don't I wish we could afford that neighborhood!)

Can anyone suggest names of builders and or neighborhoods in this area?? We are looking in the 250's-350's. We have seen McAdenville by Saussy, and have looked at the Hawthorne neighborhood also by Saussy.

Any areas to avoid?? Schools are a priority too!!

Thanks as always!

Anita

I'm very familiar with both towns. Raised in Gastonia and lived in Belmont for 6years. The Belmont schools are good (Belmont Central Elem., Belmont Mid., South Point High) and SE Gastonia has good schools (Robinson or Bess Elem., Cramerton Mid., Forestview High).

Well Bears Mom,
you know my answer-lol mcadenville, great houses-
I actually had a dream about mcadencville last night-
I also like belmont, i dont see where you can go wrong.
I think once you make a decision, and stick with it, it will get easier.
Why is your husband switching directions again?

You guys are cracking me up My poor husband is as frustrated as I am in looking for our new home/ community.

There are a lot of things...for one, housing here in GA is a lot less than in NC- the price increase since we lived there 3 years ago has just put a lot out of our range. Knowing where the prices were THEN is the problem!!

Second, we seem to find a neighborhood we like and then something comes up....like the outrageous HOA or pool membership (Skybrook) or they are assigned to a not so hot school (Bridgemill) or they are just not what they looked like on-line or it's just waaaay out there.

So we move on to another area or neighborhood...

I guess we are just trying to find the right fit. Price, schools, resale value, surrounding area, home style...~sigh~ I am ready to throw in the towel. My head feels like it is going to explode with all the areas and details I have looked at and am sifting through.

So Thank You all for listening to another round of questions from our indecisive household. I just know we'll settle SOMEWHERE. It's an awfully long commute from NC to GA.

Anita,
hopefully we will get it right, i just hope that i make the right decision. I also am torn daily, i do not know if there is a perfect place, and we may have to sacrifice to get one thing and loose on another. What is difficult is that you have to do it from your computer . But i have found this forum most informative. When i was in charlotte 3 weeks ago, i had 3 days planned , a list from house to house community to community, the second day i was like- oh man----
good luck dont forget to breathe

Xray-

You are so right! We need to take a break and relax about this. How fortunate we are that the city that we are moving to has so many choices of GREAT locations! It'll all work out.

As my husband says "just think...a year from now this will all seem really funny!"
