i live in Spring Park on hucks road off of 115/Old Statesville just below the soon to open 485 interchange. i have heard everything from Highland Creek to Hidden Valley referred to as "University Area". just curious about personal opinions on the area boundaries.
I would say that University City stretches from about Mallard Creek Rd (University City YMCA) towards UNCC to about Hwy 49 (University City Blvd)...and from about City Blvd Northward to the Cabarrus Line.

That would be a safe bet!
I would say your boundaries are pretty accurate, except that Davis Lake is considered by most to be UC. If you made SUgar Creek your western boundary, I think you'd be dead on.
I would sweep the previous 704's description westward to Statesville Rd (north of WT Harris)...holding all other boundaries the same.
Yeah that's pretty close, as Davis Lake is actually west of Sugar Creek Rd. Since the buildup of Northlake Mall and the surrounding commercial and residential developments, that area is becoming the "Northlake" area to some, and easier to distinguish from the University area.
I would say from I-77 on Harris Blvd. all the way east to Rocky River Road, and starting at Sugar Creek road in the South, extending all the way North to Mallard Creek/Prosperity Church road. Some might even say all the way North to Concord Mills mall. Just my opinion of the boundaries.
Yep you're right, and thank goodness it's not as bad as it used to be.
It has died down there a lot, and they have more police officers there.
They've done a lot to turn the neighborhood around. There was a poster here recently who wrote about loving living in there
