I am planning on coming to Charlotte in th enext month or so. WHeb i look online i do not see any direct fligghts from NY . Why is this and what are my best options to get to charlotte quiccly, as i want to maximize my time there.
Look at US Airways, they have a huge hub here and have non-stop flights from many NY cities. Albany, Buffalo, Rochchester, Syracuse, Lagurardia, JFK. Jetblue also serves JFK. American & Delta also serve Laguardia.
There's plenty of flights out of LaGuardia and JFK that are direct. I have flown down a couple times and my wife is flying down this week on Jet-Blue. Just book in advance so you can get a direct flight at a good fare. Because of that I have to do the moronic whirlwind tour by myself this weekend. I am driving down tonight to take the Charlotte firemans test and than jumping back in the car after the test tomorrow and driving back home to LI. Would have flown but I waited too long to find a flight and the cheapest I could find was out of the question. My wifes flight is $300 round trip and even that is on the high side. If you shop in advance airfares are usually between $79-$109 each way which is still cheaper than driving and less time consuming. I'm just hoping that I78/I81 in Harrisburg are open as they had them closed last night and this morning because of ice from the recent snow storm.
