You can find a lot of info about crime through the internet crime is not subjective. schools are subjective and test scores don't tell all. I don't really plann on living in Charlotte. I would just like to know how the Burbs located to the North compare with the Burbs to the south and if one has a distinct advantage over the other including where are the best schools. I have 3 boys ages 12, 3, 1. I have heard that you get more bang for your buck in Huntersville. why is that?

I've heard the commute is really bad from south to north but haven't experienced it. It's all relative as to what you're used to. Charlotte does not compare with cities such as Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, or Tampa as far as traffic is concerned! I think Birkdale is beautiful but very expensive. We're not far from it at all. I live in a very sociable community, close to the interstate, at exit 23 in Rosedale. We're having a lot of shopping going in outside of our development. Hoping it will help appreciation, along with the rest of the housing going up. I think the S. portion of Charlotte has already experienced it and we really didn't look there due to commute and travel needs for my husband. That's all I care about, show me the $! ![]() |

Thanks lovesMountains for your replay.I am a single guy I like crowded places and a lot of action. You can say I like to live in a place where something always going on (clubs, bars, people) and kinda safe
thanks again |

Now, on the southend of uptown is the area known as "Southend". There you will find many neat little restaurants and some bars. Also in this area is Tremont Music Hall - a great place to take in local and national live acts who play to smaller crowds. Near there is Amos'es - another great place for live music. How much can you spend on rent? And where will you most likely be working? |

Fifteen miles south of the center of Charlotte might put you in a high dollar area, but it's worth looking into. South end is very nice.

Huntersville is nice. I read the police blotter all the time it's a bunch of petty crime. I haven't seen anything on the blotter that would make my hair stand up. The traffic into Charlotte in the morning from exit 23 is not bad at all. I like Birkdale but the HOA is like 130.00 a month and I couldn't justify paying that. Check out some places off exit 23. |
