How surprised will you guys be when you find out that I am not a teacher, just someone who support and appreciate what they do for our children and the future of this country. And "brianh1970", question for you. Why do you think the minimun wage is increased every once in awhile?

I'm sure she does mind! But I'm also sure there are reasons why she does it that benefit her in some way. Again, we must all make hard choices when we are grownups I know MANY teachers in the Catholic School System. You want to see low pay - look no further. They are the bottom of the totem pole of teachers. But every single one of them is an exceptional teacher and dedicated to what they are doing. When you do what you are passionate about THAT overrides your anger about your lack of pay.

Also, if someone who teaches in the area could check my research.....although I have 13 years experience, it looks like I would only make 50,000 in the C-M school system as a teacher. Could this be true?

I would really appreciate anyone giving me some details about the salaries and benefits. thanks.

Actulally, it wasn't worth my while to work here and I am not currently working. I do plan to finish my career in CA eventually! I am maintaining all of my credentials and doing my continuing service hours to make sure I am not out of touch.

Brian, it is quite insulting to compare a teacher with 2 MAs to a hamburger flipper. Is that truly what you think of teachers????

Where did you get the idea that I compared teachers to burger flippers? Where do you see that comparison.
