Looking forward to a milder winter, especially after the last winter.

I don't know if last winter was "normal" for this area or not. But I thought it was great having moved here in December from NW Ohio. The weather seemed to be only January and February and pretty mild except for a week or two. And the sky was blue every day. Big change for me. NW Ohio had a very bad winter last year so I got out in the nick of time. I went back to visit over spring break the last week of March and got out of the airport and had to drive in a blizzard. I couldn't show off my tan that I had already gotten in March here. I hope this winter is like last winter here.

Opps, I meant to say the "winter seemed to be only Jan and Feb."

Trishlee, I know how you feel about the blue skies in Winter! I am from IL and the winters are so depressing with the overcast for months at a time! The snow is pretty for about a week and thats when I am over it and ready for spring. We have been here for 7 years now and love the 3 month long, blue skies, light jacket wearing winters!

beachbumssb I am moving there from IL and can't wait!!! I look forward to leaving my SAD (seasonal affective disorder) behind. My aunt took my son school shopping and wanted to but him a winter coat I said no he won't need it he has a good jacket. I think she is in denial about us moving.

I have a chimney sweep coming to the house next Wednesday to get us ready. $145 from top to bottom, only $15 more than I saw an individual charging on Craigslist. Hopefully we will be ready for our first fire when the weather chills down to the 50's again

ILMOMof4, you will be amazed at the blue skies all winter. And the sound of birds! The gray skies where we had lived were a day to day event from December thru April. I think I read once that Toledo, OH only has something like 130 days of sun a year. That is rediculous. I think Charlotte has twice that.
