I read the thread on good Chinese foods in the Charlotte area. Now what about decent inexpensive Italian food. Any suggestions? A neighbor of ours suggested Marino's on Providence Road in Waxhaw. I have to say it wasn't very good, and I am being kind. They didn't even have eggplant parmigian on the menu which is something I usually get. And the pizza was so-so. Any place that makes a good eggplant parmigian is a place I would like to try!

Try out Carrabbas! They have several locations. My husband and I went to the one in Matthews and the food was pretty good.

from the wife,
It's either Angela's or Angelo's in Mint Hill(can't remember;maybe someone can help me out). The food is great(I'm picky w/ red sauce and by far their bolognese sauce is the best) as is the pizza.
We've gone there several times and so far being new to this area(plus we're Italian) it's the best we came across for a non-fancy place.

yrgm Angela's is our favortive also.
To the OP, I have tried their eggplant parm and it is the best I've had here in Charlotte and good eggplant parm is hard to find, it was recommened by another customer while I was there dining.
They do a stuffed eggplant parm also (ricotta cheese) YUM! Really ,any thing we have ordered from there is fantastic.Their sauce is amazing
I wish we lived a bit closer I would do take out more often and try to pass it off as my own!!!!

You're joking right? How about the Olive Garden j/k!

How about Villa Antonio? Ballantyne and South Blvd. locations are excellent?
