Yeah, my wife recently moved from San Diego to Charlotte and we were really excited when we saw the new Mimi's last weekend. We used to have one about a mile from our house and we'd stop in a few times a month on our way home from work to grab carry-out, etc. They have great salads, muffins, Blackened Chicken Tacos, Chicken Penne Pasta, etc...

It's not too expensive and we really like it...Unfortunately, we haven't been able to make it to this one yet, but we'll certainly be there soon!

Its funny you say that, since they are owned by Bob Evans (though they didnt used to be). They are based here in Southern California and ever since being bought by Bob Evans they have been expanding to the east coast.

Good food, family friendly. I especially enjoy their soups and their baked goods. They have a decent burger as well. Definitely worth checking out.

Thanks everyone! Looks like it'll be worth trying out. It'll be interesting to see what else will be coming to that area.

It's definitely a step up from the average chain restaurant....nothing like Bob Evans. Homecooked meals, and definitely a big notch above Cracker Barrel, too. I went once in Greensboro and got the meat loaf and mashed potatoes and was very impressed!

We had our first chance to eat here today. Everyone in the party raved about the food, the bread, and the service.

I've been to the one at Northlake. The food was great and the service was excellent! I highly recommend MiMi's Cafe. It was nothing like a Bob Evans. I expected it to be a diner-type setting but it wasn't. It was very nice. I will hopefully get to go back and try their other dishes. Be sure to try their fried pickles. They were good, different, but good.

You're doing yourself a great disservice if you don't try the five-way grilled cheese sandwich at Mimi's. They also have great breads that they bring to your table, but the sandwich is truly to die for.

Mimi's!! My wife and I recently moved out to Charlotte from San Diego, CA and we nearly stalked the builder while this Mimi's was being built (asking about completion times, etc.) because we liked it so much back home. Excellent home-made food...soups are excellent, baked goods of all kind, great breakfasts, dinners, you name it. It has a home-cooked feel with a New Orleans/French cafe flair. I think what sets this place apart from other restaurants is that they make everything on site from scratch...it's not off a frozen truck like so many other places. Wednesday night's red bean and andouille sausage soup is very good.
