Smile Riding Lessons - Matthews/Indian Trail Area/Monroe

Hi - I'm contemplating taking horse riding lessons. Don't know much about the sport; but from what I've read, leaning towards English Riding. I searched the threads and found a couple of places over in Waxhaw. Does anyone have any recommendations for the Matthews/Indian Trail/Monroe area? Looking for adult beginner classes.

I put this on my to do list, since I ran across it on Sunday on my way to the Carolina Raptor. It is located in Huntersville at the Latta Equestrian Center, located on the Latta Plantation. Be sure to stop my Lancaster Barbeque on you way home--very good ribs and chicken.

I ride at Double R Stables in Waxhaw/Mineral Springs. They have adult lessons of all levels. It's really laid back and not too expensive. I've been there almost a year now (I'm an adult intermediate/advanced rider) and I love it. They have show opportunities and lots of trail rides and field trips, too.

Their web site is: doublerstable.com though the site is a bit out of date (some of those lesson horses aren't there anymore). I live in Charlotte and it's not too bad a trip, about a 20 minute drive.

The Bonterra Village development is an equestrian community with a horse stable. The stable is managed separately from the community and I recall that they offer riding lessons.
