When I lived in Miami I was lucky enough to have a real butcher near where I lived, quality blew the supermarkets away.

Tried the various supermarkets here and have not been that impressed.

Currently buying the meat from Freh Market, was wondering if anybody knew of any actual butcher shops in Charlotte, preferably South Charlotte

Allow me to piggy back on your question and ask the same for fish markets....there are some great ones in Miami as well as in Palm Beach.

I want to know this too!

I'd also like to know why the milk is so expensive down here?

We use High end cows Just kidding what was the price per gallon where you are from?

Not sure of the Butchers in S. Charlotte. The meat at Harris Teeter is pretty good IMO

Milk is about 3 dollars. At the dollar store by my old house it was 2 for 5.

The milk at Lowes is $5! That's crazy! At Harris Teeter it's about $4. And Food Lion, which I do not like, if you buy their brand it's $3.89, the cheapest I've found. But I don't like Food Lion, like I said, they have a poor selection of meat and no butcher.

Harris Teeter carries Dietz and Watson in their deli, which I love though! And my favorite salsa. Harris Teeter is by far my fave. Lowes is the biggest rip-off with the worst selection. $8 for hard salami? That's ridiculous.

I love the grocery store, obviously. I pack my fiancees lunch for him every day and like it to be really good. lol.

Don't know about Charlotte, but there sure isn't a butcher shop or Italian market in Concord!

What about the Fresh Market in Charlotte? Don't they have a butcher and a fish department?

I did see a butcher in Mooresville yesterday, forget the name, when I was shopping. Unfortunately I won't be anywhere near Mooresville once I get my lazy butt home and start packing and the deal with the movers is cemented. Wesley Chapel.

Grocery store butchers usually do not have the selection a specialty butcher will have.

Based on these comments, is it safe to say there are no dairy farms either. We pay $3 per gallon here in RI, but we get it directly from the dairy farm.
