My father recently passed away. We had turned his house into an assisted living home for two residents with 24 hour care. This is in Waxhaw NC. The caregiver is wonderful. She took very good care of my Dad {who had Dementia }and the other gentleman that lives there. Would prefer a man to move in. Very resonable compared to a Nursing home and with better care. I've worked in nursing homes and believe this is a better alternative. Please contact me if anyone is interested.

Winsor Run the new place coming to Matthews is not assisted living, I checked into it for my
mother who currently lives at Weddington Park AL in Matthews. She's been there almost 4 years
and it nice, my mom will be 90 in December and she gets good care. This is not a skilled nursing facility even though they have a lot of residents that I think should be in one.
Winsor Run is a senior living center, not AL. It is also VERY expensive. Weddington Park cost us over $2700 a month for my mom.

Wow, not bad. I've been quoted $6500 a month for my wife for AL care.

WOW, where was that?
I know the Carriage Club where my mom used to live quoted $3500+ and I thought that was high.

My f-i-l has been in Weddington Park (across from the Sisky YMCA) for a few months and so far we've been happy with it. It is clean, the people seem nice and he is adjusting very well.

Sunrise on Eastover. I'm under the (possibly wrong) impression that the minimum cost for any AL/NH care in this region can be no less than $5000 a month.

NH, Nursing Home care is WAY different than AL, Assisted Living. In a nice facility it may be $5000 on more a month.
As I said in an earlier post, Weddington Park which is a nice place costs us something over $2700 for my mother. We have to pay some extra because she's a fall risk and needs help bathing.
