Does anyone know why this has been closed the last couple days? Is it shutting down? I hope not, it's my favorite coffeehouse and favorite workplace away from my home office!

If thats the one over by Montey's seafood, then it has closed down. I hope it's not the one over by the theater, I love that place.

I'm a vendor in the same development. Several employees were standing around It's A Grind at about 3:00pm. There said unfortunately that the news was given to them Sunday that the store was closing. The Ballantyne location is no longer named in their North Carolina store listing on the company website.

What a shame! It was really a nice place, and always seemed to have a decent crowd. I wonder if the rent there was just too high? There are so few good coffee shops around - does anyone have suggestions other than Panera or Starbucks?

I didn't know "It's a Grind" was a real place. I'm a fan of Showtime's Weeds and it appears in the opening sequence. I thought it was a made-up logo on a storefront for the show. At least this one appears to be doing well!

Take a look!

I would give you a try, however you close at 6 every day. No disrespect, but I don't even get off work at that time, let alone look for a place to have a cup of coffee.
