So glad you're okay! On 81 in Virginia the car in front of us hydroplaned,he lost total control of his car it was so scary! He ended up going in circles on the grass in between the 2 busy highways(North and South 81)before stopping just before he went into oncoming traffic. One of the scariest things I've ever witnessed. My dh was driving and it took him a while to stop feeling his heart in his throat!

Default 485

ani...all I could think of this morning coming to work was what happened to you. I travel between South Blvd and S. tryon and hit several large rivers on 485, I was keeping it between 40 and 45 as was everyone around me, then this bozo came flying up behind me in a Nissan Altima, TEXTING!!! AND FLITTING IN AND OUT OF TRAFFIC trying to get around those of us who were being careful. There was a HUGE Cadillac in the middle lane going about 35 and the cars in either lane beside him boxed this moron in.....it was funny. he was really pissed and when he got through the traffic flew down the road. Just under the 77 flyover he spun off didn't hit anyone, and ended up in the median. I know everyone that passed and saw who it was laughed. He was standing there outside his car, drenched with this look on his face like "What happened"? Traffic the other direction was stopped dead due to another car that had spun off the road at South Blvd and the IMAP truck and a cop were with her. so I'm sure he sat there awhile....

OMGosh. It doesn't take but one idiot to put so many people at risk! I keep hoping when someone does stupid things and ends up w/ an accident, that everyone who sees it will stop and think about safety issues and how ignorant it is to take chances in traffic - especially w/ TEXTING!!! With bad weather, everyone needs to be so careful . . . I am glad you didn't get caught up in a bad situation b/c of someone acting like a total fool.

81 is so scenic, but I have had some scares on that highway myself. I can only imagine how frightening it was to see that guy in a spin. It is very disconcerting to realize we can be driving along, doing the right things, and hit a spot on the road and find our world literally going in circles. Thank God his car was not hit by other cars and a terrible accident occurring. I love to drive! But crazy things can happen out on a road . . . especially in bad weather . . .

Is it just me or does it seem there is always a passing rain shower near Wytheville

It explains why the grass from there to Abington is so green and lush.

Maybe they are in a micro-climate. You know - kinda like Seattle.
