Here is the link to help you stay informed about any hurricane activity that might affect us here in CLT.

Emergency Management sent this out in an email earlier this week, when it appeared Hanna may be heading our way.

It is too soon to tell what the path will end up being. At this point, it does appear Hanna will take a turn and not head straight for us. However, there is still plenty of time for weather patterns to change . . .

Thanks for that link. I like how the various windows are condensed on the front page so you can easily click on what you want to see....

We know Gustav is gonna cause trouble for potentially anyone from Brownsville, TX to Mobile, AL, Hanna definitely bears watching for us....

It seems like even the storms that hit way down by Texas or Florida eventually end up giving us some rain even though they wander out and about they seem to end up heading East-North/East spreading moisture in our area often! Is this common?

It all depends on the overall weather patterns (jet stream, where a high is located) as to whether or not a hurricane coming into the Gulf or Florida will end up blessing us with rain, LOL. However, my experience has been that there are 2 phenomena that are regularly experienced in NC - tropical storms (often as residual from a hurricane) and Nor'easters, (often as part of a system that has organized further up the east coast). I think a lot of people are not aware how our weather is affected by both hurricanes and Nor'easters.

I did have beef jerky around the house but Indigo (my furkid) wanted to be prepared now.

I have a gut feeling this is going to be similar to the other year when we was hit back to back with Hurricanes

And, behind Hanna is another disturbance coming out of Africa. It could get exciting.
