Considering a day trip to Charlotte. If I ride the Amtrak, how far is the closest car rental place?

Thanks for the advice...

Hertz rents at the airport. They will reimburse up to $20 with receipt, for a taxi ride from the train station to the airport. It's about 8 miles from the train station to the airport.

The closest one I can think of off top of my head is Enterprise at S. Tryon and Carson. It's about 2 miles from the station. But I imagine the hotels uptown rent them too.

I can't remember the name of the company, but there is one that will drive to your location, pick you up and I suppose you drop the agent off. I'm thinking Enterprise, but I have had two glasses of wine and I could be wrong.
