Default Harrisburg Road, between 485 and Albermarle, OK?

Realtor send us some houses to look at. There are a few in communites located on Harrisburg Road between 485 and Albermarle Road. Is that a safe area?

The closer to Albemarle Rd you are the less desirable the area in my opinion. Closest to I485 you have to watch out for Stewarts Crossing subdivision - this is one of the higher foreclosure neighborhoods in the city and there are some problems there. But near Robinson Church Rd, and on it actually, there are some nice homes.

Yes, that part is more desirable. Look at the crime mapping system on charmeck.org to determine the safety in that area. The closer to 485 and Robinson Church Rd., the better. My realtor actually lives in that area close to Harrisburg Rd.

We did some looking out that way and actually offered on a house in Bradfield Farms. Like others said, there are some nice areas, and some less nice. I haven't heard much good about Kingstree. We drove through Turtle Rock and didn't want to stop. We liked McCarron alot (a little off HArrisburg), but couldn't find a fit for our needs. Another thing to consider are the school assignments. They vary in that area, but can include Albemarle Road Elementary and Independence High, both of which don't get could grades on the school report cards. Not sure if you have school-aged kids, or plan to, but it may be a consideration. We ended up buying in the Prosperity Church/Highland Creek area because we like the north end of town and the schools up here are much newer and rated higher.
