Indian Trail -Crismark
Hi All, We will be relocating to NC once our house in MA sells and have been looking in the Crismark subdivision in Indian Trail. Can anyone tell me anything about this subdivision? Is it close to shopping, how far to Charlotte, etc.....Also, we too (my husband & myself) will be looking for jobs. Currently, I am a VP of Human Resources & Retail Banking so I'm pretty sure I can find a job however I would like to down size my position for a less stressful one. My husband is in construcition and also has been into landscaping & irrigation ~ how are the job situations? Fortunately, we will not need jobs right away, but it is something we need to know about. We have 3 kids, 20, 22 & 25 and two are in college but the 25 yr old will be moving with us ~ are there people their age in that area? Any information is greatly appreciated....Thank you in advance......Micki

We are moving from MA to Indian Trail in May. We drove through Crismark on the way by last month since there is another guy on here (MADave) from MA just moved down there two weeks ago. Hopefully he sees this post and lets you know. It seem like a nice development and I have seen good things about them.
The commute is 30 minutes or less on a good day. If going into the city during rush hour, I have heard it can take an hour. All the shopping you could want is on 74. They have everything, Superwalmart, 3 grocery stores, BJ's, so on. Also in under 45 minutes you can be in Concord at the Concord Mills Mall, which is huge.
Enjoy your house hunt.

Crismark
Hi Dave and Micki,
To get community info on Crismark you can go to the website for Eastwood Homes, www.eastwoodhomes.com then click on communities and select Crismark. The homes are advertised from $180's but in reality they probably start at a little over $200. I believe there is another builder in that community, Cambridge. I can help you find info on the builders if you need it.

Yes Eastwood is in there -- I just sold an Eastwood home in Crismark. It looks like it will be a nice community when it is done. The other builders in there are Westport (at a higher price point than Eastwood) and Dublin Homes, which is building a full brick product and is (understandably!) higher than the previous two. Best of luck

Great info. DH, myself and 2 sons are moving from RI in the summer. We have been checking out Crismark. My BIL and SIL built an Eastwood home in Charlotte 2 years ago and it is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

I live in crismark
Good Afternoon,
I live in Crismark. My family moved out from California last June into a new eastwood home in Crismark. My wife flew out last february when we had narrrowed down the list of developments we were interested in and we settled on Crismark and Eastwood. We signed papers in February and the house was completed in the beginning of June. Eastwood was very quick to resolve some initial issues when we moved in which were very minor and to be expected. On the downside, in my opinion the sewer / water / garbage rates are a lot more than what I paid for in California. The streets in the Eastwood areas are a little narrow and your not supposed to park on the street because it can be a pain for cars to get around. Most people seem to follow the CC&R's but there are a few that don't even know they exist, ie. ( pitbulls - not supposed to have them, it's in the cc&r's but there were a few around ; portable basketball nets - Not supposed to have them on the street, but again they are around. few other little minor issues. We those few excepts, everything is great and I would still buy a house in Crismark.
It's a very friendly neighborhood, in a good school district. It's just in the country enough for me, but still close to stores, etc. The whole indian trail, hemby bridge area is up and coming and growing.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Charlotte - Indian Trail
Indian Trail is very close to downtown Charlotte. 30-40min tops. The Tax in Union county is also lower. There are plenty of Banking Jobs with Wachovia or BofA. They will be working on Independence Blvd. in the near future (2009?) to make it overpasses and right turn only all the way to i485. Contact me if I can help you with your move to the Charlotte Area.

questions
Hi all,
Could someone orient me to directions and distances of the following subdivisions, etc.
Cureton, prices, also I've read that sometimes there is a sewage plant smell?
is that true for Crismark or Brandon Oaks subdivisions. What are the prices in these subdivisions? Are the schools of similar quality? Or is one better? Any info on special ed for learning disabilities/moderate or moderate plus?
Are there things for teenagers to do? Any really good churches?
Does anyone know about good private schools?
Thanks in advance for any info!
