It's hard to let go!! My oldest is 9, and she's asking for more and more freedom! I miss the days when they depended on us for most everything. Perhaps this is the chance for you to knick the cord, so to speak- let her go knowing she will be well looked after. Good luck!
She is not my demanding child, the oldest one is, so this took me by surprise. But I would still prefer my 2 middle schoolers to go together then they have eachother to help if needed. I just don't know how streetwise they are for their age.
They have been doing it for a long time. It used to be called middle school madness but now I dont know what it is called. It has always been safe from I remember.

That's what it was called when my kids went - Middle School Madness, and they LOVED it. Not sure what S & S stands for that Berry mentioned? Anyway, they get huge turnouts but the Y seems to have plenty of chaparones and security so the dances are always very successful.

Where are these dances held? Sounds like something my son should try?
Any further info would be appreciated I'll start looking it up.

Hi Doorway They are at the Siskey YMCA and the Harris YMCA. The JCC (Jewish Community Center) used to do them too a couple of times a year. The Y's do them once a month I believe. It is a lot of fun for the middle school set.

It's called SNS (Saturday Night Siskey).
My daughter has gone and had a blast each time. It's a nice gathering once a month for the middle schoolers.
