Mechanic/Auto Repair Advice
Hi! I'm new to the area and am a 22 year old female who needs auto repair. Needless to say, I'm pretty much a walking target for a mechanic who is looking to rip someone off. I've done a little research on mechanics in the Huntersville area, where I live and have come up with a short list. I'm partial to family owned, hole in the wall places. On a teacher's salary, I need a place that is affordable, honest and reliable. If anyone is familiar with any of the following places and has an opinion on them, I'd love to hear what you have to say. Any other suggestions are appreciated as well!
Jimmy's Mobile Auto on Old Statesville
Simpson Automotive on Old Statesville
A & B Auto on Westmoreland
Murray's Auto Works on Statesville

I have a guy who lives in Huntersville. He used to work at Jimmy's then Chevy and now at the Toyota dealership. However he converted his garage into a shop. He does all my work, if you want his number let me know.
Near Cedarfield.

Ok no problem, sorry I don't know anyplace I can recommend to you....
Audi ownership isn't that bad if you know someone who can work on it for you (cough, cough)

I know that you live in Huntersville, but if you work in Charlotte, I would highly recommend Compact Car (704) 567-7797 on Independence. They specialize in Honda/Acura cars. I've used them since moving to Charlotte 4 years ago and they are very good and honest. Prices are quite good compared to the dealerships. Last year, I had my catalytic converter replaced. The dealer quoted $1100, but Compact Car did it for approx. $600.

I agree w/ Compact Cars. We have had them work on my husband's '97 Accord and have done good honest work for a decent price.
