Buyers are "jumping off the fence to buy"
I rec'd a link today in my email from a CLT real estate agent. Part of the message said "buyers have begun to jump off the fence since the bail-out of the Freddie Mac." His quote. Hmmmmmmmm, bailout a couple of days ago and people are "jumping "(??) Link was a CLT news station (i think in the past two nites) Having trouble in linking it for some reason to this post...sorry.

 It's a realtor's wishful thinking.

Absolutely.
99% of people have no idea what the roles of Fanny and Freddie are in the mortgage business anyway. The bailout isn't going to change anyone's mind because they don't understand how it affects them.

Yep, kinda my thoughts exactly. It's unfortunate because 99% of the people don't even understand the dynamics of this even if they are not in the market to BUY a house. I need to stop here because this thread will get moved (I think) if I give my viewpoints what government's intervention means to a taxpayer.

What's up. I've been hanging around under the fence for 2 days and no one has jumped into my lap! Am I doing something wrong?

Realtor hype... If they can convince people to start buying now before its too late and the prices go up again, then others will follow, eventually leading to increased home value due to higher demand. It's the same as the government urging people not to hoard extra money in our countries current economic crisis. They want you to go out and spend as much as possible, which will cause a trickle down effect on the economy and eventually lead to an economic up-swing. So yes what they are saying is BS, and yes they are trying to deceptively create demand for homes, but it also will eventually lead to good things.
