Gas Shortage? (Huntersville, Statesville, Mooresville: food, stations, places)

The Texaco station at Carowinds has diesel & race fuel only. The Exxon across the street from it has all grades available. The BP station in Pineville has all grades available as well.

I just got back from my second fueling at Carowinds Texaco. All the pumps are open with a limit of 10 gallons. Premium is $4.03/g.

maybe rather than saying "drill bay drill" we should all be saying "invent baby invent" relative to emerging, alternative forms of energy other than oil


welcome to the post-American world Charlotte, NC! perhaps its about time to limit our local and state usage, and in turn build more reliable forms of public transportation and improve infrastructure?

That Exxon station creeps me out a little. It is always 10-15 cents more expensive than the Texaco on the other side of the intersection. I don't understand why anyone would ever stop there.

Oh, and the BP at RiverGate - where I usually find the cheapest gas in Steele Creek - was actually the highest that I saw today at $4.19/gallon. Go figure.

I think we all agree thats the future, but it's not that easy. Americans still don't take public transportation, they still drive huge SUV's for now reason, businesses still require their employees to drive to work for no real reason, etc. Then again, we haven't really invented a good alternative yet, as much as the consipracy theororists state.

If we had made it as financially lucrative to the auto makers to improve gas mileage as it was to crank out SUVs, we'd all be driving cars now that get 100 miles to the gallon. The only reason mileage standards aren't higher is because they didnt have to be. Frankly, it kind of pisses me off that my parents generation didnt do something about the fuel situation after the gas issues of the 70s. Let's hope our generation gets it right!

Around Concord at 3am I went to 5 different stations to fill up (I was past E, literally). The first 4 were out. Prices from 3.65 -> 4.29 all within 3 miles or so. Ended up paying 4.19 for 87.

Most places were out Friday and Saturday. Don't know about today.
There sure was a lot of traffic on 85/40 today though.

I didn't pass a single station with gas today..
