Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie to the area and need some insider information. I would like to find a reputable veteranarian and a good kennel for my cat. I went to one close to my house and was annoyed with the extremely slow service at the desk. There was no other people in the waiting room either. They also seemed pretty expensive when I asked about prices for office visits, shots, etc..... I would like to find one that has reasonable prices. I live near UNCC in Northeast Charlotte right now but will probably move out of this rental within the year, so location isn't a big deal.

Also, can anyone recommend a good kennel or cat sitter? I have to tell you I'm a little surprised at the cost for a cat's overnight stay!!! I used to pay only $10 a day back in VA Beach. One place quoted such a ridiculous price on the phone to me I said it would be more cost effective to put kitty up at the Motel 6. At least she'd have HBO, maid service and a continental breakfast!

Any good ideas?

When you find a vet you like, ask if any of their vet techs do pet sitting - most do. Cats don't board as easily as dogs. There is also a national certification org for pet sitters that has bonded sitters if that is a concern for you. Search the York-Lancaster forum as we had a discussion over there on this topic.

Hi! Former feline-only Vet tech here... it is usually better if you can trust someone to sit for your cat at home. If that's not an option try:

Dr. Nan Moses
4 Seasons Cat Hospital
6926 Shannon Willow Rd Suite 200
Charlotte, NC 28226
(704) 752 -5120

I took a tour of her hospital and the boarding facility is very nice.
