Default Myers Park?
-Can anyone please explain the area of Myer's Park? Is it a safe area and is it part of Southpark?
-What is the reputation of Sharon Road? A safe area?
-Any roads to stay away from while apartment shopping?

Myers Park is the grand dame of neighborhoods in Charlotte If you can afford to live there it is considered highly desirable. Myers Park is the area sandwiched between Eastover (which is also very nice and very pricey) and Dilworth. It's southern boundry meets the SouthPark area.

Sharon Road is a nice area, as is all of the SouthPark area. But don't get confused about all the "Sharon" references you see in some of the street names. For instance, when apartment hunting stay away from Sharon Amity, Sharon Road West or Sharon Lakes. Good luck!

BTW, how much do you plan to spend on rent?

OH NO!! Please don't change your mind!! This is such an awesome place for kids to grow up. Hey, here's a suggestion...why not try looking at existing homes in the Matthews/south Charlotte area? That's where I am, and I promise, never seen a snake over my way at all!

Default Spending
That information is great. I am trying not to spend more than $850/month and of course would prefer to spend less than that but still be in a safe and convenient to Dilworth and Uptown. Any suggestions?

What size place are you looking for, as an example I live 8 miles from Uptown on Providence road and renting a two bed townhouse 1146 sq ft for $649 a month.
