The Falcon Ridge development is off 160 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Approx, 100 yards from the state line.

The nearest gas station is in South Carolina on average 10 cents a gallon cheaper than Charlotte.

Sorry for any confusion.

Okay, so the map was for somewhere you thought about buying but didn't because the commute was too long. Sorry, didn't catch that! Falcon Ridge is in southwest Charlotte. That is a nice area Can you give an opinion of the schools served by your neighborhood?

The schools appear to be good, also if Iread correctly they will be building a new high school, which will service the pallasades area as well, I check the school ratings at ncreportcard & school matters and they scored higher than the bulk of cms schools.

I'm confused. I've seen multiple references to St. John's Forrest on this site but the only SJF I've come across is in Monroe. Is there more than one?

nope there is just one....It is called ST. John's Forest at Wesley Chapel but the mailing zip code is Monroe. You are actually closer to wesley chapel then Monroe but Wesley chapel doesn't have a post office yet....the schools are weddington now but will change for the next four years to Monroe schools until Wesley chapels schools are complete. The new schools will be hooked onto St. John's Forest in a few years.

Aha! Thanks for the clarification. Interestingly, we moved down here and discovered my DH's first cousin was living in SJF with his wife and daughter. It's not very far from us. They have since moved onto Kannapolis.

What made them move? How long were they there? The development has only been arond for a few years. You can pm me if you want. Kannapolis i s a lot different then the wesley chapel area. It seesm there are some resale arleady in St. John and I am trying to figure out why. I guess if they bought in 2003 they may be ready to move up.

Mary, just to let you know about the schools in SJF, they are no longer Wesley Chapel/Weddington since the schools are so over crowded. There is a new elem school opening up in the fall called Rocky River and the middle school is Sun Valley. I don't know about the HS, but there's probably another school assigned since Weddington High is overcrowded as well. My daughter will be assigned to Rocky River, which is ok, but I was hoping for her to go to Wesley Chapel elem.

I wish I could answer but we're not that close to them. Personally, I wouldn't choose Kannapolis over the Wesley Chapel area but, to each his own. Both SJF and their current development have too many homes, too close together for my taste. I really couldn't see any big differences between the old and the new. But what do I know?
