Default That was strange

I was woken up at 2:42 AM by the phone ringing.

"This is the Police Department. Can you come outside please?"

So I throw on some clothes and step out the front door.

"Your car windows are down. You have some CD's on the seat. Can you roll the windows up please?"

So, I go get the keys and roll up the windows.

You're brave. If someone I didn't know called me at 2 a.m. and told me to go outside, there is NO WAY I would go! I think I would have called the police first and asked them if that call really came from them! Sounds like maybe it was a friend playing a joke on you?

Are you joking? Please let us know!

Did you really go outside?

Sounds like they were policing the area and saved themselves a call??
Your right, that is a lil strange, but it is nice to see that they are checking things out.
I am assuming you looked out and saw them there before you went out????

Yeah, I peeked out first and saw the flashing lights. So it seemed to be legit.

Well, kudos to the police! Guess you'll never leave your windows open again!

I'm not sure yet what the relevance was that warranted the phone call. I don't leave things in the car that I can't easily replace, like my laptop or my laptop from work.

That would freak me out. Do they not have better things to do w/their time than to wake people up in the middle of the night to roll up their car windows?

This is not as uncommon as you might think They are all about CRIME PREVENTION these days. Your car looked like a crime scene waiting to happen They also issue tickets for people who go out and start their car on a cold winter day then step back inside while it warms up. This helps keep the car theft numbers down.
