We are trying to conserve but will probably go out tomorrow. I work at home and run necessary errands on Friday (bank, groceries, etc...home the rest of the week) so Sat is my "I need to get out of the house for a while!!" day...LOL. DS has some shopping to do as well so we will at least be combining trips.

One of my nephews is playing soccer not far from our house tomorrow morning, so I am hoping to run over there. We are talking less than a 10 mile round trip . . . and will add any errands onto that excursion. I am thinking about gas . . . have 1/2 tank and am just not worrying about it right now. If I see a place to fill up and things are not nutty, I will stop tomorrow while out . . . Other than that, tho, I am sticking close to home right now. DH had to run out to Lowes this evening, so he picked up some groceries . . . I guess staying in means getting the laundry caught up, Hee Hee.

Well, you will be a little lighter and that might improve fuel economy. Not by much though.

So if when we have gas and and it about the same price as race fuel Im assuming it would be good for long road trips?.

I wouldn't do it, Sunny, unless I had a turbo or supercharged engine.

Spanky's right. Most cars won't benefit from it. But since I have a Corvette I find that I can stretch out a tank for a long time...

LOL...how did you know?? I did catch up on some laundry and then watched the debates after scrubbing the microwave (which DS caught on fire) while he built a replica of Stonehenge. Really, there is enough to do here, I shouldn't need to leave the house for another week... See how much fuel I am saving??

General rule of thumb for race gas......
If you can't do a 12 second 1/4 mile or better, get in line with the rest of the people paying for 87 octane.
I've got buddies with built (VERY fast) Lightnings that still run pump gas (93 octane).

Another general rule for race gas.....
If you drive it to work, put regular gas in it.

Exxon on 521 and Collins Road in Indian Land...short wait.
Gas was 3.89, $35 limit, cash only. 15 minute total time from waiting in line to pulling back out onto to 521 to come home.
The Gate that is just up the road has no gas.

We are having a lazy day here at home and have not ventured out yet.
I have 3/4 tank (filled up Tuesday) but the wife has ridden on reserve for two days.
How is the gas situation in SE Charlotte?
