I heard on the news this morning that there are supposed to be a large number of tankers coming into our area in the next few days - supposedly, by arrangement of the Governor. Don't know what that means . . . sure hope it is right.

I can't find premium anywhere. I've been conserving and thought I'd be ok, but I'm down below an eighth now. Forget about "Boost" you'll Have an easier time finding premium!! I just got this car last month and this will be the second time I'll fill it so I dont want to put a lower than recommended octane in her. If anyone sees any premium out there, please post. I've pulled into at least 10 stations who have pricing displayed for premium, only to find they are serving regular.

Why not try buying Octane Boost online until the crisis is complete? On a side note, most newer cars that require Premium have computers that know if the burn rate is not high enough and retard the ignition to compensate for the lower octane gas.
Do You Really Need Premium?

I wouldnt worry about not being able to find premium. My car demands premium as well, but it will run fine and not impact the car. You might see slightly reduced engine horsepower, but overall your new car will be fine!

Thanks, Ani. I'll be home! I may venture out to run errands around South Charlotte by the mall and over by the Michaels on South Park, but I might have to wait till tomorrow and use hubbys car. If I'm sure a station has premium, I'll go there!!!!

We have a truck with a Hemi and it is recommended that we use premium. Hubby knows all about trucks/cars and said it won't hurt to put in regular. We had no choice and have not seen any difference. Our truck is a year old and we have always used premium and this is the first time we used regular---I wouldn't worry!
