Take I-485 to Pineville, exit Hwy 51 South (Carolina Place mall exit)
Turn right on 51 (mall will be on left)
Turn left on Polk (turns into Lancaster Highway)

I currently live in the cold northeast Ohio area and want to move back down south. I lived in GA for 4 1/2 years and really miss the warmer weather, friendlier people and all the good car shows and festivals that you have down there!!! Not to forget the good food!
Still working on convincing my husband to move south, but I think he is catching on to it....the more he sees, that I could get a really well paying job, if I just went back to work and we'd move to Charlotte. hee hee
Anyways, we have 2 small children, so we have to consider school districts.
Which are the better school districts? How are the suburbs overall? Are there any german restaurants/clubs?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I am trying to get my (German-born) mom to move to Charlotte so I have been researching and trying to find Germans and German speaking folks in Charlotte. The German clubs meet at Waldhorn Restaurant in Pineville. The church mentioned in a posting is St. Mark's and would be a great place to network. Then check out this realtor. I don't know her reputation but her website is excellent. Did not realize there were so many German-based companies here!
Ich bin auch Deutsche and my husband is american and we just moved to Charlotte from Fort Lauderdale, FL.
We have 2 small children and the main reason we moved are the schools.
I looked into the schools here and our favorites are Cabarrus County and Union County
I think we will buy a house in Concord, Cabarrus County. We are currently renting as our house in S Florida is not sold yet
