Christmas Decorations...
are up at BJ's Warehouse in Pineville...
Has anyone noticed any other stores getting a jump on the holidays?

And to think it used to be bad when stores had Halloween decorations up in early September.

Probably going to be a tough year for retailers this Christmas so starting early and extending the Christmas shopping period may help.
I LOVE Christmas, but not until late November.

Garden Ridge had both fall and Christmas stuff out, as of last week. That place is just crazy anytime, but it seems like now thru New Years will be especially nuts and overwhelming to the eyes.
I'm eager always for the next season, both for clothing changes and decorating, but each in its own turn. Fall is too wonderful to skim over.

Um...what about Halloween and Thanksgiving?
Before you know it, stores will be putting Christmas decorations up in July.

The majority of what I buy is toys, and luckily those are readily available all year. I'm trying to shop little by little to avoid the shocking bills in January.
It's also a treat that there ARE stores I can go to for shopping. Last year, I was doing my shopping in a small town in PA with very few options. Ah, choices.

You know, I really love the holidays (especially Christmas) and I really don't like that they put Christmas things out so early. I think it takes away from the other holidays and 4 months of Christmas decorations is a bit much. I can't remember where it was last year but some place was playing Christmas music in October!! Way too early IMO.
We shop deals all year and so don't get caught up in too much of the hustle and bustle of the shopping in December, but I still enjoy going out to see lights and decorations and walk around the large garden centers full of trees...it's just not the same in September.

NCyank, I absolutely agree. I love love love Christmas (I slather my house with lights) but I think Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday, and I don't appreciate it being overlooked for Christmas.
Besides, if you start too early you're sick of Christmas by December 25.
