Didn't mean to dis the Jersey Shore. It is just that it is far from Charlotte and the OP would be far away. On the other hand, you may want to divert her to California or some far away place.
It is a term used to describe people/tourists that came into the area and were very disrespectful.
They would throw around the "I have money(or pretend to) cater to me" phrase.
