Default Hip, but not too expensive restaurant in Huntersville area

We're taking a friend and her husband out to dinner to celebrate my friend's birthday, and they live in Huntersville. I'd like to take them somewhere that's not a chain restaurant, but is fun and sort of hip. Not trying to spend $200 for 4 people to eat, hopefully less than $100. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Thanks!

Red Rocks is always good but you could spend closer to $200 depends on drinks etc...

If you're willing to drive a little further.....we love to go to Prickly Pear in Mooresville (and we live in Huntersville).

Default Crave the Experience on Exit 28

Hey, shameless plug here. I play music at a great restaurant that would certainly fit the bill. Crave the Experience is located next to McAlister's Deli and Todd's Music on Catawba, just west of I-77 off exit 28. They have a hip tapas menu, very affordable, as well as a full course entrees. You could easily do dinner for 4 there for $100 or less, and look classy doing it. Great drink specials, too.

Crave the Experience :: Food. Fun. Fame.

I think 131 Main on Catawba is very nice. Sounds perfect for what you are looking for.

My recommendation also.

Red Rocks is good - had lunch there yesterday, but isnt there more than 1 of these? Fox and Hound also, food is surprisingly good. I like eeZ Fusion for sushi.

Maddies Southern Bistro is excellent. Red Rocks food is good, but average overall for the price you pay. I dont like Fox and the Hound food at all (fun place) if you are looking more of a sports bar type experience.
